An underfloor heating system is the ultimate in home heating; if you want to evenly and completely warm your home then the place to start is in the floor.
Warm water flows through a series of pipes laid under the floor, meaning that the house is heated evenly from the floor up. While most traditional heating methods waste a significant amount of energy through heat pooling at the ceiling, the optimal positioning of the underfloor heating system means that minimal heat is wasted. The radiant heat is evenly distributed throughout the entire floor area effectively turning your floor space into one giant heater.
Underfloor heating is energy efficient. Once you have warmed the house to the desired temperature the heating system finds it easy to maintain that temperature with very little use of energy. You will be surprised at how much heating from the floor up makes a difference to your home comfort and your heating bill.
Hydronic underfloor heating is also recommended as the healthiest way to heat your home as there is no forced air circulation to blow hot air (and dust and other allergens) around. As well as being asthma and allergy friendly, underfloor heating is also the perfect option for the elderly or for those with children or pets as there are no elements or naked flames.
This system is naturally easier to install when your house is being built. Call us today to discuss your underfloor heating options and let us find the heating system that best suits your needs.

How hard is it to install?
If you’re a practical hand-on person, with attention to detail, you will be capable of installing our kitset
The kit is customised to your requirements and comes with complete instructions
Note it is a D.I.Y. kit we guarantee the equipment supplied but not the installation or installer
What is involved?
A heated floor system works by pumping warm water through a series of pipes under the floor. The water is heated by a boiler unit, which maybe gas, wood, diesel or heat pump. The floor area is divided into zones or circuits. The exact plan of this is calculated according to the Canadian IPEX computer model used in all LSH designs.
The underfloor kitset includes all the information and instructions to install a full inslab piping system as though LSH was installing it for you. We want you to be fully confident of the method of assembly and your ability to install. We also recommend that our designing engineer is available by phone on the day of installation to answer any questions you may have.
How does heated flooring work?
Heat rises. If you want to evenly and completely warm your home, then the place to start is in the floor. Most people do not know this, but the concrete floor of your home has tremendous thermal inertia. That means that hold heat exceptionally well. Once you get up to a proper temperature, it will keep glowing and warming everything to touch. Your entire home will be more comfortable and friendly with a heated floor. You will not experience the dryness and uneven heating that comes with central air systems.
This is very efficient. Once you have the house warm the heating system finds it easy to maintain the temperature with little use of energy. The excellent positioning of the underfoot system means that no heat is wasted. Leaks and open windows are of much less consequence when the house itself is warm.

Creating a warm and inviting home is easy using hydronic radiators. This simple and effective method of home heating uses a central heat source, such as a gas boiler, to heat water which then flows through sealed pipes to manually controlled radiators situated throughout your home.
A programmable thermostat maintains the comfort level in the home, both temperature and timing, giving you more control of the heating and using less energy to achieve it.
As hydronic radiators work by emitting natural radiant heat, there is no forced air circulation as there is with heat pumps and other heating appliances. It is for this reason that hydronic radiators are recommended for asthma and allergy sufferers as dust, smoke, pollen and other allergens are not being circulated by the forced air. Heat pumps can also be noisy, drafty and often result in the warm air pooling at the ceiling and a lot of energy wastage. The gentle radiant heat provided by hydronic radiators is far more efficient at evenly heating the entire space and distributing the heat exactly where you want it.
Radiators are also a safe option for families as there are no naked flames or hot elements. The radiator panels are safe to touch, perfect for little fingers. Your radiator can even double as a towel warmer or help you dry your washing in winter.
It is possible to retrofit radiators* which will dramatically improve your comfort and the livability of your home. By installing our discreet piping system and with panel radiators to suit your older style or modern home, we can transform your cold and damp house into a warm and inviting home. Read our testimonials and contact us today to take the first step to improving your quality of life and adding value to your home.
For radiator installation your house will need to have access under the floor. This option is not suitable homes with solid concrete foundations. Contact us to discuss the heating option which will work best for your home and your lifestyle.
Hi Julie, I have a lovely warm home! The four radiators in lounge and bedrooms are plenty and heating the halls no trouble. It's been too hot so I'll have to reduce the temperature from Steves preset at 22 but it's sheer luxury; I'm thrilled. Barely any condensation worries so doubt I'll be needing double glazing (@$30,000) or needing to line the exterior walls either so it's been a very cost effective step for me. I'm so pleased. ”
“Fired up the system last Friday, really impressed. The best part of the whole house plan”
“We are totally happy with the system Lifestyle Heating have installed in our home on Pumpkin Hill, Tairua. Steve and Julie are very sincere, empathetic people and easy to deal with - Paula and myself have no hesitation recommending Lifestyle Heating to anyone who wants the best heating and the people’s people”
We are enjoying the underfloor heating as the winter weather sets in and every thing is working well.
We have just had solar power installed so that should help off set the power bill.
I was happy to find your business when we were looking into underfloor heating .
My research showed that to get the full system installed through other companies was going to become too expensive. It was getting to the point of not being able to have underfloor heating.
I wanted to install the pipe in the concrete myself to keep costs down. With your system, i was able to do that.
When I learnt that you designed and supplied the pipe with the kit all I had to do was install the pipe as per your simple instructions
Which only took myself and a labourer one day to install..
It was great to use you as a local business and nice to know any problems we have support not to far away.
